New Store News
Thanks to our customers, friends and neighbors support it looks like our project is moving ahead. A few state inspections and processes are yet to complete and until then this will be the place to go for all the project updates. Join our Rewards Program and you'll be the first to know!
Here is the latest and greatest article about the move, things are still moving along!
"California Organics Market and Grill will be moving from it's Argall Way location to Broad Street in Nevada City with the help of a loan arranged through the County. The County has the opportunity to apply for $1.1 million from the Community Development Block Grant Economic Development program. The intent of the application is to provide a business loan to California Organics to expand and relocate to the old Broad Street Furnishings building at the foot of Broad Street. The space in Nevada City has been vacant for many months resulting in loss of city revenues. Chris Kysar, the owner of California Organics says the relocation has the potential to create 28 new jobs, and revitalize downtown.
“The businesses downtown are catering a lot to the visitor and what I have heard time and time again from my customers is that this would be a reason to go downtown.”
As for parking, they will restripe and expand capacity in the back parking lot, offer curbside loading, and provide an electric shuttle to go to the public parking lots in Nevada City.
Kysar says they hope to open California Organics on Broad Street around the first of next year. Once California Organics re-pays the loan, the money will be put back in a pool to be available to other economic development projects in the area."
